Rhodes Joinery & Building Services Featured in the FMB Magazine
Rhodes Joinery & Building Services are proud to have been recently featured the Federation Of Master Builders magazine for our refurbishment of the historical local Cooper Kitchen hardware store into what is now Cooper Kitchen & Bar. Located on Southgate in Elland, Coopers recently opened it’s restaurant upstairs to rave reviews. Originally built and owned by Cooper Kitchen, a famous Ironmonger in the 1800s, the building retained it’s status as a hardware shop until 2020 when it finally closed it’s doors.
Coopers was sympathetically refurbished to retain as much of its history as possible. A replica of the Moorgate Dwarf Roadster Penny Farthing, designed by Cooper Kitchen himself takes pride of place behind the bar. A stunning, huge wall mural draws you to the back of the bar and up the stairs. Painted from a range of historical photographs, this beautiful mural was created by a very talented local artist, Richard Everett of Richard Everett Artworks. The bar itself was handmade along with all the tables by our talented team here at Rhodes Joinery & Building Services and everything was reused that could be throughout the entire renovation.
A job well done and one that we are all very proud of.
